LUCIANO OLMEDO
Luciano Olmedo began his study of Muay Thai in 2010. What originated as a practical pursuit of self-defense quickly evolved into a dedicated discipline, as he found profound satisfaction in the art’s rigorous physical demands and the mental resilience required to master them.
Over the past decade, Luciano’s coaching impact has spanned the full spectrum. He has served as a mentor and tactician for practitioners of all levels—from foundational youth programs and adult beginners to elite amateur champions and professional Muay Thai practitioners.
In 2018, Luciano expanded his martial horizons when he was introduced to Jiu-Jitsu by his Muay Thai mentor, Dave Wai Moy. Despite his extensive striking background, he was immediately captivated by the "human chess" of the ground game. The strategic depth and analytical problem-solving inherent in Jiu-Jitsu provided a new intellectual challenge, leading to a deep and lasting appreciation for the grappling arts.
Currently a brown belt under Jin Yung, Luciano brings a wealth of cross-functional martial art experience to the Workshop NYC faculty. His pedagogical approach emphasizes technical precision, personal discipline, and the holistic growth of his students, ensuring the lessons learned in the dojo translate into character growth on and off the mats.
