Tyler Rivera
Tyler’s journey into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began in the Pacific Northwest in 2013, sparked by a fascination with the original Gracie Challenge videos and early UFC tapes. Driven by curiosity, he sought out a local academy, unexpectedly located in his former middle school, and immediately fell in love with the art.
As his dedication grew, Tyler expanded his martial arts horizons by studying boxing, wrestling, and judo. While he developed a deep respect for the striking arts, his true passion remained rooted in the complexities of grappling.
Throughout his career, Tyler has sought out a diverse range of influences, from classical Jiu Jitsu to more modern expressions of Jiu Jitsu. As a coach he seeks to integrate these methodologies with wrestling techniques learned under various wrestling coaches and pass them onto the students he teaches.
